What the exam looks like
Searching for the rbt exam usually means one question: what will be on it? The format is below.
75 scored questions plus 10 unscored pilot questions; 43 tasks in 6 domains

Each practice exam has 85 questions (the 75 scored plus the 10 pilot slots of the real format), spread in proportion to the scored weights, rounded to a total of 85.

Source for the domain names and counts: the BACB RBT Test Content Outline (3rd ed.). Behavior Acquisition carries the largest weight, so it deserves the most study time.
How to use these materials
- Start with the free 20-question quiz. It shows your score by domain, so you can see where to begin your rbt exam prep.
- Read the matching part of the study guide for your weakest domain. The guide describes 42 of the 43 tasks in the six domains of the Test Content Outline, 3rd edition. Task F.4 is listed but not described: it could not be verified from a readable source, so the guide points you to the official outline for it.
- Take a full 85-question practice exam in one sitting, then check it against the answer key. Each key line gives the correct letter, a short rationale and the task code.
- Review misses with the flashcards, then take the next exam. The RBT practice test page has 3 sample questions with answers.
